This morning I woke up to the sound of workmen in the courtyard outside my window. I have no idea what they were saying as they bashed and crashed their way around, but it sounded jocular and teasing. Working guys making fun of each other or maybe laughing at the latest gossip. I slept as one only can, stuffed full of pizza and red wine, dead to the world for almost 9 hours. The effects of jet lag are falling away.
Milano is a big, busy city, with high energy and lots traffic. Today we’ll take some respite in the beautiful duomo and central squares. We are also challenged to find a new mode of transport to Sirmione tomorrow, as they have announced a day-long train strike. This is no small deal as buses don’t run there and I am guessing the only other kind of transport is car & driver. But… adapt, make do, press on. And stay tuned!

Gosh you stay up late!!! Haha!
