Unraveling the puzzle of blog postings
I think I may have cracked the problem for those who are unable to comment. Part of the issue is that I'm using Google Blogger, which, like me, is becoming somewhat dated and glitchy. In the coming days I may explore migrating the blog over to WordPress (I seem to have some time on my hands). In the meantime here are a couple of hints for those who do want to comment:
1. When you receive the email indicating there has been a posting, open the email and then click on the blog title to open the proper blog page.
2. Ensure you're logged into Google.
3. If the comment grays out or just won't post, go to your device settings.
4. Choose Safari - -Preferences.
5. Click Privacy.
6. Uncheck "Prevent cross-site tracking."
7. Save changes.
That may seem like a ponderous task but it took us about 20 seconds and then Rick was able to finally comment.
And yes - this is our current puzzle under construction. We have found a strange kind of comfort zen in doing these lately, with some beautiful music playing in the background and perhaps a nice glass of wine. A refreshing mental holiday until you get a headache from the eyestrain!

Okay, finally managed to figure out my rarely used Google login.
ReplyDeleteCath, thank you so much for your insightful posts. Perspective is so important at a time like this and you're calming, thoughtful words help us to appreciate that.
I, for one, am happily ensconced in my condo with TV, dogs and a myriad of retirement crafts, crochet projects (one of which may have some pink in it - just sayin) and 'to do' list items begging for my attention. Not to mention a couple of jigsaw puzzles and a Mid-Century cabinet that needs some gentle refinishing. And then there's my new point-and-shoot camera with a 50x zoom which has accompanied us on many beautiful walks but I have yet to download any pics! So, other than needing a hair cut, I want for nothing. I've got plenty to keep me occupied and entertained, and I'm betting 90% of it will still be waiting for me when we come out at the other end of this! I've also been working on afagan that was started approx. 30 years ago!!! I don't remember starting it but did recognize it when I pulled it out last year in Houston. It was about 1/3rd done and is now about 2/3rds. One of the skeins of yarn has a Woolworth's price tag on it!!! That had to be the store on 8th Ave mall in Calgary in the 80's!! Hopefully I'll manage to get it finished now - but no guarantee!
Good for you Beamer, that is exactly the right kind of spirit that will get us through! And thanks for solving the mystery of the comment box - it is so nice to have you chime in!
